Ladysmith Housing Authority

The Ladysmith Housing Authority is located in the City of Ladysmith, Wisconsin which is the county seat for Rusk County.


We have an elderly/disabled apartment building (Ruskhaven Apartments)consisting of 20 one bedroom units. The building also houses the office of the Executive Director and the maintenance facility. The LHA also has 20 family units consisting of 8 two bedroom units (4 duplexes), 6 three bedroom single family homes, 4 four bedroom single family homes, and 2 five bedroom single family homes. Each of the family units has a one car detached garage.


The City of Ladysmith has many amenities including the Marshfield Clinic, Rusk County Memorial Hospital, a Walmart super center, Gordy’s County Market, and numerous local factories, shops and businesses. Indianhead Transit service provides daily public transportation at a reasonable cost and KeyCare non emergency transport is also avaiable for out of town medical appointments.


In addition, Ladysmith is located in a scenic area. The Flambeau River flows through the City and the Flambeau flowage is within five miles of the city limits. Both provide opportunities for fishing (summer and winter), swimming, and other water related activities. Ladysmith is close to the Blue Hills, an area noted for its hunting, fishing and other winter and summer activities. Memorial Park is located within the city and is noted for its beauty as well as being the site for the annual Northland Mardi Gras which is held the third weekend in July.
